akismet rules

i installed the akismet anti-comment-spam plugin for wordpress a few days ago. so far it is working GREAT. i was getting pretty sick of tagging every spam entry in my moderation queue (there were a LOT), all while keeping an eye on legitimate comments.

highly recommended!

    Completely unrelated to akismet…

Thunderbird 1.5 changelog (not yet release, but something you can read without sorting through posts)

I've been using akismet for a while now, and though I don't doubt it's efficiency, it has blocked a friend's comment recently. I suggest you go through the spam detected by Akismet from time to time to make sure it doesn't automatically ban desired comments.

Marine: yeah, i have found a number of false positives when going through the spam list. i try to check up on it every couple of days or so.

it's still better than having to manually approve every comment, though, or even getting an email every time some spam gets blocked.

    spam is the debbil!!
